Description

Lower Merion School District is hiring a Dispatch Secretary (DSRA) for our Transportation Department. 

 

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Pre-Employment/Post Accident Drug Testing Procedures
    • Process and send staff to remote side for drug testing as appropriate
  • Annual / Random DOT Drug Testing Procedures
    • Compile, verify, and monitor lists of staff for DOT and annual drug testing. Assist with onsite testing when appropriate to comply with federal and district policies
  • Driver Physical Procedures
    • Monitor and coordinate driver physical examinations to comply with state and federal regulations
  • PennDot Medical Waiver Procedures
    • Monitor and assist drivers with their medical waiver forms to maintain their valid driving credentials
  • PennDot Driving Record Procedures
    • Process and maintain staff driving record files
  • Vendors
    • Verify and process incoming invoices from vendors
  • Bus Conduct Form Procedures
    • Enter incoming bus conduct forms into database
  • Employee Accident/Incident Procedures
    • Enter incoming incident/accident reports into database
  • 26 Pay Procedures
    • Process yearly forms for special payroll processing
  • Track new employee attendance for probationary and bonus purposes
  • Answer phones and respond to inquiries from public, schools, and staff
  • New Hire Procedures (Driver, Aide, Operations/Grounds)
    • Follow new hire onboarding processes
  • Credential Procedures
    • Track and follow-up on driver credentials to maintain valid licensure
  • Parking Tag Procedures
    • Track and maintain parking tag database
  • Outerwear Procedures
    • Track and distribute new employee equipment and clothing
  • Yearly Forms
    • Track and maintain database to ensure completion of required staff notification forms and assist during summer route picking
  • Recess & Cafeteria Procedures
    • Maintain database and fill temporary work requests from schools and other departments
  • Transportation Mailbox Procedures
    • Monitor, respond, and distribute incoming email correspondence
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned

 

 

The successful candidate will also have the following qualifications:

  • Must be at least proficient in knowledge of Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook;
  • Must successfully complete LMSD qualifying tests;
  • Applicant must be able to work well in a team setting;
  • Possess ability to set priorities and multi-task to complete projects on time;
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to use technology to perform job efficiently;
  • Possess organizational competencies; strong accounting abilities, written and verbal communication skills;
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict deadlines.

 

Education Requirements: High School Diploma/GED is required. Associate/Bachelor’s degree preferred. Job related experience in public school districts is an advantage.

 

Act 34 and 151 clearances and FBI registration number required.

 

This is a 12-month position. Starting salary is $58,476.00 (subject to be prorated based on start date)
