This position is responsible for; installs, tests, and repairs secondary high voltage building panels and disconnects; calculates electrical equipment and system requirements; installs conduit, conductors, junction boxes, disconnects, receptacles, switches, and light systems; replaces ballast’s; repairs motors, starters, pumps, and electrical aspects of chillers, boilers, fans, and related heating and cooling equipment; tests safety equipment, exit and emergency lighting. Responsible to review electrical work as assigned, tracking work orders, and performing electrical installation and repairs including contractor coordination in all District buildings.
QUALIFICATIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent necessary
- Minimum five years’ experience in Residential, Commercial, or Institutional Electrical trades
- Certification - Master Electrician Preferred or Journeyman License
- Valid PA driver’s license
- ACT 34 and 151 clearance and FBI clearance
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
- Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with others, teachers, administrators, parents, students, support staff and outside professional contacts.
Ability to work at height’s utilizing ladders, cranes, buckets, etc.; Must be able to reach above and below the waist, walk and use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects. Requires use of both hands for repetitive motion. Able to bend, twist, kneel, stoop, climb and crawl. Lifts/carries supplies weighing 90 lbs. or more. Ability to work in an external environment subject to temperatures below 32 degrees or above 100 degrees. Able to stand or walk eighty percent (80%) of workday. Ability to work alone and with little supervision.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- 12 month (260 days/ 4/10 hours = 2080 hours)
- Second Shift Assignment 12:00pm to 10:30pm
- Salary & Benefits are as described in the current Collective Bargaining Agreement. Starting salary is currently $70,865.00 (eligible to be prorated based on start date)
